Following the success and widespread publicity of our first designer collaboration with Laminex in 2020, Ortolan was engaged to lead the brand’s second major creative partnership, this time to unveil the vibrant 2021 Colour Collection. Our role was to guide the collaboration strategically and creatively, ensuring the collection launched with impact across trade, media and consumer audiences.
With a brief to challenge expectations and explore unconventional palettes, Sydney-based interior design studio YSG designed three adjoining spaces — a kitchen, study zone and living area — capturing the new reality of home as a place to live, work and play. Their bold, expressive aesthetic brought a fresh perspective to Laminex’s materiality and storytelling.

Our involvement spanned strategic direction, photography and film art direction, styling guidance, production management and on-set coordination. We also designed the campaign’s visual language across print, digital and social platforms, ensuring the collection launched with cohesion, personality and a strong creative vision.
