A self-initiated creative project exploring our connection to place through ancient native flowers and contemporary Australian beauty for Here x Melbourne Design Week.

Invited to submit a project for Andrew Ashton’s Here × Melbourne Design Week event, Ortolan created a new body of work exploring how place informs visual language and our creative practice. Free from commercial constraints, the project became an opportunity to reflect on our own relationship to place, and to translate that thinking into a series of photographic images working with our regular collaborators.
