Sue Ford (1943-2009) was an Australian born photographer, film maker and photomedia artist. Her career spanned four decades and she was the first Australian photographer to have a solo exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria in 1974. In 2011 Monash Gallery of Art exhibited her last major photographic work. A collection of 47 single edition self portraits taken from 1960-2006 for which we designed the supporting catalogue.
Ford’s approach saw the camera as a machine, an objective means of documenting. We stayed true to this approach through the design of the catalogue with only necessary elements remaining.
